About

Axe throwing is a fairly new sport. There are often many questions we get asked here at Texas Axe & Ale. Here are answers to the questions we get most often, but feel free to call us with any others! We’re happy to help!

We are right on the border of New Braunfels and Marion. We're the 4th building in the row.

Regular sessions are $25/person for an hour of throwing.

Group events vary depending on your specific needs. We are happy to put a package together just for you! Give us a call or email contact@texasaxeandale.com.

Arrive 15 minutes before your booking time. You’ll need time to check you in and make sure everyone in your party signed their waivers. You’ll head to your axe lane to go over safety rules and throwing tips with our “Axe-pert”. Then you’re ready to throw axes for your hour time slot. When you’re done, you’re welcome to hang out in our lounge areas, play pool or check out the arcade, or grab a beer and enjoy the sunshine out back.

Sessions are booked in one hour increments.

For the best experience, each axe lane can accommodate up to 6 people. You can easily book a group of 6 people online. For larger groups, reach out to us at contact@texasaxeandale.com so that we can make sure we have two lanes next to each other.

You’ll need a credit or debit card to book your session online. We require full payment at the time of your booking.

Close-toed shoes are required. We want to send you home with the same amount of piggies you showed up with.

Yes! Each lane will have their own “Axe-pert” to go over technique and all of the safety rules. They’ll remain nearby to help give you some pointers, too.

You must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by your parent or legal guardian.

Surprisingly, it's very safe! Axe throwing venues have been safely operating across North America for over a decade.

Sure! You can bring your fans, I mean… spectators. They will need to sign a waiver and stay behind the thrower lines.

Anyone. A-N-Y-O-N-E can get the hang of this. This sport is for everyone. Whether you were team captain or picked last for dodgeball, it doesn’t matter, all of us have had a great time throwing. You’d be surprised how easy and fun it is. Brute strength doesn’t necessarily have an advantage when it comes to axe throwing. Rumor has it that women learn faster than men because they actually listen to the instructions, but you didn’t hear that from me.

At Texas Axe & Ale, we’re all about the adaptive life. We already told you this sport is for everyone and we mean it. Besides, throwing an axe from a chair is considered a cool trick shot, so you’ll have instant street cred when you stick it.

Of course! Priority will go to our customers that have already made reservations, but as soon as we have an open spot for you, we’ll get you in! You’re welcome to wander around, play arcade games and grab a drink if you have to wait a bit before your walk-in session starts.

If you’re coming to celebrate a birthday, you’re welcome to bring a cake. Otherwise, we’ve got snacks and depending on the day, a food truck for all of your grubbin’ needs! Be sure to check out our social media for the food truck schedule.

Chill out. If someone is totally wasted, they won’t be throwing axes. Our goal at Texas Axe & Ale is for everyone to have a great time and remember it so they want to come back. Don’t forget! We’ve got dedicated Axe Coaches monitoring the throwing lanes at all times and everyone touching an axe to make sure they don’t get out of hand. We have a large selection of beers, wine, seltzers, as well as non-alcoholic and kid-friendly beverages. We also have Wicked Voodoo coffee!

Yes! Your Axe Coach is giving y’all everything they’ve got to make sure the experience is a blast! Besides, everyone likes a tip. Don’t be an axehole.

You name it, we can host it! Our special events team has extensive experience in throwing (pun intended) all kinds of events, small to large, and would love to help you put together a fully customized experience or help you craft your own event. Texas Axe & Ale is a 6,000 square foot venue that has axe throwing, bar, arcades, pool tables and a large outdoor space to bring your vision to life. Feel free to call us or email contact@texasaxeandale.com to start planning your next event!

For hourly axe throwing, if you need to cancel your booking a week beforehand, we can reschedule you or fully refund your payment. If you need to cancel your booking less a week beforehand, we will happily reschedule your booking. For special events, please refer to your event contract for the cancellation policy.
